LEED Costs

So the big question is always, "How much does it cost?"
Well, that depends on a number of factors, but here are some of the basic things you need to know, plus a few resources that may help.

The PDF attached shows a sample comparison of LEED-NC costs (LEED BD+C) and LEED for Homes soft costs. These costs will vary dramatically not only by project, but more significantly by the LEED experience of the project team.

LEED hard costs may also be estimated. It is not really that difficult to come up will ball-park cost premiums for LEED. Davis Langdon and others have done extensive research demonstrating that LEED increases hard costs between 0% and 4% historically. Owners and teams will want to allow contingencies within their construction budgets to ensure LEED goals are met.
